  • Project Management: Oversee all initiatives related to fleet operations, patient handling equipment, and uniforms using effective project management methodologies.
  • Procurement Efficiency: Ensure the effective procurement of vehicles, uniforms, and patient handling equipment within budgetary constraints.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Drive the organization's strategy towards achieving a net-zero vehicle fleet, identifying innovative environmental solutions for transport needs.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations and resource allocation within the fleet department, including the in-house workshop.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee external suppliers and subcontractors to ensure value for money and alignment with organizational interests.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that the vehicle fleet and associated equipment meet all statutory and applicable national or European standards.
  • Ethical Sourcing: Ensure that uniforms procured are from ethical and sustainable sources.

  • Training Development: Lead the technical training initiatives for fleet operations and patient handling equipment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of extensive experience and academic qualifications, including:

  • A recognized professional qualification in Fleet or Transport Management.
  • A minimum of five years of management experience in a transport or fleet environment, specifically with a large fleet exceeding 350 vehicles.
  • Experience in managing specialized vehicles and equipment, including procurement and maintenance programs.
  • A current Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Management.
  • Proven experience in fleet management and procurement processes in a complex environment.
  • Strong skills in budget planning, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Experience in negotiating with external consultants and contractors.
  • Proficiency in managing projects and developing organizational policies.

This role requires a highly developed specialist knowledge and practical experience in fleet management.
