About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Planner to join our Area 9 team based in Bescot, WS1 4NL. As an Assistant Planner, you will assist the Area Planner in developing, monitoring, and reporting on multi-discipline localised area programmes in line with client service level agreements and internal commercial requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing localised programmes of routine and reactive works
  • Support planning and delivery of services in line with Tender strategies
  • Ensure productivity targets are planned for all aspects of the service
  • Manage all relevant programmes and assist in developing planned maintenance solutions
  • Regularly communicate programme changes and risks to the Area Planner
  • Assist in emergency response and coordinate with NCC to restore highways to normal running
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of planning and highways legislation, including the Road Traffic Act. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels are essential. Time management and prioritisation of work for self and team against changing demands of network needs is also required.
