**Job Title:** Senior Corporate Lawyer and Governance Expert

**Job Summary:** Broadgate is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer and Governance Expert to support the General Counsel and the wider business in achieving commercial aims and ensuring regulatory compliance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Advise the board and senior management on their responsibilities and regulatory obligations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, legal, and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the efficient functioning of the board and ensure good information flow within the board and committees.
  • Monitor legislative changes and take appropriate actions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Administer day-to-day company operations, including preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Advise on legal matters related to commercial contracts, employment, privacy, corporate, and tax.
  • Develop and maintain standard form contracts, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and update policies in risk and compliance frameworks, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide legal training across the organization, ensuring employees understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Support broader initiatives and projects within the organization, leveraging expertise to drive business growth.

**Requirements:**

  • Previous experience as a company secretary or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of banking products and experience in the corporate banking sector, preferably in the challenger sector.
  • Understanding of privacy and employment legislation, with the ability to advise on complex matters.
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 3 years PQE, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and advise across departments.
