About the Role:

The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Fundraising and Communications to join our team in a jobshare capacity. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to provide emotional support, practical tools, and a sense of community to refugees and asylum seekers in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify our income streams and increase our profile.
  • Manage corporate and community fundraising, develop events, and write successful funding applications to trusts and other funding sources.
  • Work closely with our Trustees, CEO, and existing Head of Fundraising and Communications to meet challenging fundraising targets.
  • Support the development of a fundraising strategy with a variety of income streams and bring experience and ideas to raise our profile.

About Us:

The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants is a small, growing charity founded in 1997. We welcome people who have been displaced from their countries of origin and offer them emotional support, practical tools, and a sense of community. Our mission is to provide a warm and welcoming Centre in Islington, an Online School teaching English and promoting wellbeing, digital inclusion, grants to people in destitution, and a Support Service offering advocacy and advice.

Requirements:

  • Strong track record of fundraising for charities, with experience in corporate and community fundraising.
  • Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a small team.
  • Resilience, professionalism, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
