Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead LIMS Developer to join our innovative Regeneron Cell Medicines (RCM) unit in Cambridge, MA. RCM is dedicated to developing groundbreaking cell therapies that translate scientific advancements into life-changing medicines for patients.

As a Lead LIMS Developer, you will play a pivotal role as an IT partner for our scientists, providing technical expertise and support on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). You will be responsible for customizing existing software platforms, refining requirements, and building new data solutions to streamline laboratory workflows and enhance efficiency.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with scientists to understand their data capture, analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Customize LIMS platforms for sample inventories and workflows in early research and process development labs.
  • Develop, configure, and support various IT systems to meet the evolving requirements of our R&D teams.
  • Gather and refine business requirements and user stories to drive the development and enhancement of data solutions.
  • Actively participate in IT project teams, working alongside scientists, business analysts, and programmers to deliver technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design, testing, and debugging of end-user applications.
  • Ensure the ongoing functionality and maintenance of various systems to meet business, functional, and technical needs.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address technical issues on existing software and define new enhancements based on user requirements.
Your Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and support of informatics software platforms used by scientific organizations to gain insights from their data.
  • Hands-on experience with LIMS, particularly for sample inventories and lab workflows in biopharma R&D teams.
  • Experience working with bioprocess/preclinical manufacturing LIMS systems.
  • Proven ability to work with R&D scientists to develop business requirements and user stories.
  • Strong track record of prioritizing and delivering multiple initiatives in an agile environment.
  • Experience developing tactical and operational plans to transition to new technologies that support business processes.

Required Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.

Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in programming and customization within Laboratory Inventory Management Systems (Sapio, preferably).

Fundamental knowledge of the life sciences/biopharma space is preferred, along with previous laboratory experience.

Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming is essential. Experience with source code version control, particularly Git, is highly valued. Familiarity with querying databases and using statistical computer languages (R, SQL, etc.) is also required. Experience as a business analyst by creating requirements documents, process flow diagrams, and test scripts is a plus.
