An effective supply chain is crucial for the UK's economy, directly impacting over 7 million people employed in making, selling, and moving goods. With Brexit, technology, and other disruptive forces driving changes in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to the UK's economic success.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our decarbonisation policy efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive forward our goals for decarbonisation across all logistics transport modes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver policy positions and campaigns on decarbonisation, with the ability to adapt to emerging topics and priorities.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in policy information and positions, representing member views effectively.
- Provide expert policy support across Logistics UK on decarbonisation and sustainability topics, contributing to wider business goals.
- Act as Secretary to assigned councils and working groups, facilitating engagement, speakers, and meetings.
- Coach and develop direct reports, collaborating with the wider team to achieve shared objectives.
- Deliver results within budget, demonstrating Logistics UK's core values of Excellence, Dynamism, Togetherness, and Reputation.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Persuasive and articulate communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to represent Logistics UK externally at high levels of government and with media.
- Team player with a willingness to contribute to Logistics UK's wider policy, communications, and commercial objectives.
- Understanding of public policy development and influence.
- Interest in logistics issues or a willingness to learn.
- Experience working on environmental and sustainability issues, particularly in transport, is highly desirable.
