Position Overview

As a Lead Environmental Consultant within our esteemed organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable initiatives that positively impact both society and the environment. Your expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be essential as you oversee both statutory and non-statutory environmental evaluation processes that support significant development projects in the energy sector, including but not limited to onshore and offshore wind, solar energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), transmission, and energy storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage comprehensive environmental assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize your understanding of UK environmental consenting processes to guide projects through various stages of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies to compliance with consent conditions.
  • Lead the scoping and coordination of environmental baseline data collection, providing insightful analysis and recommendations regarding environmental and sustainability constraints and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate advanced report writing capabilities and facilitate efficient peer reviews, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Collaborate with project directors and team members to support and lead key technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A relevant degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in an environmental discipline is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating EIA for complex projects, particularly within the energy sector, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong commitment to sustainable development principles, especially in the energy domain.
