About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal Body Controls Engineer to lead the development and testing of body control modules across multiple carlines for a prestigious car manufacturer in the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage commodities for one or several body electrical modules, ensuring timely component releases on the Bill of Materials (BoM).
- Develop and prepare body modules for production, guaranteeing seamless integration with other vehicle systems.
- Produce detailed timing plans for body modules, aligning with project milestones and deadlines.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop component-level requirements, fostering strong relationships and ensuring quality standards.
- Conduct thorough testing on Labcar and vehicles, identifying and resolving faults in engineering and field environments.
- Proven experience with body control modules for an OEM, with a deep understanding of body control functions and the V-cycle electrical development process.
- Strong grasp of the vehicle development process, with excellent supplier management skills and knowledge of Functional Safety (FuSa) and Cyber-security.
- Proficient in writing requirements using ALM tools, with the ability to produce comprehensive test plans and diagnose vehicle faults.
- Competent in diagnosing vehicle faults and supporting the 8D process, with familiarity with PPAP and other sign-off requirements.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and hold a valid driving license, with self-motivation and the ability to resolve issues independently.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of providing clear status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
