About the Role

The School of Natural and Built Environment at Queen's University Belfast is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Architecture to join our team. As a key member of our academic staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching, research, and service to our students and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver professionally accredited teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Design, Technology, and Professional Skills Modules in our RIBA and ARB accredited programs.
  • Contribute to the teaching, assessment, organization, and administration of our School, including coordinating and delivering modules, participating in teaching activities, and enhancing student employability and the overall student experience.
  • Contribute to our existing research profile by actively contributing to knowledge and impact in the field of Architecture and related areas, including securing external funding, publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals, supervising PhDs, and generating research impact and public engagement through knowledge exchange activity.
Requirements
  • Be professionally qualified and experienced in the design and delivery of synthesised building projects of recognised/evidenced design quality.
  • Hold membership (ARB/RIBA Part 3 or equivalent) or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional institute.
  • Have a significant record of evidenced achievement in respect of the quality of their designed outputs.
  • Be able to evidence multiple high-quality design outputs (built projects) involving a high level of technological resolution and integration gained in professional practice through the lens of environmental performance and regulation.
  • Have the ability to communicate complex information effectively with a high level of graphic and design awareness and ability.
