Position Overview
We are excited to present an opportunity for an Innovation Project Associate within our Group Innovation team at DS Smith.
About DS Smith
DS Smith is a prominent provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products, and recycling services on a global scale. With over 80 years of experience, our organization has expanded significantly, enhancing our services and expertise. We operate in more than 30 countries and employ over 30,000 individuals.
Role Responsibilities
As part of the Group Innovation team, reporting to the Group Innovation Growth Platform Director, you will play a crucial role in developing new growth platforms. Innovation is a fundamental component of our growth strategy, and your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and executing project and program activities within the Group Innovation Growth Platform(s).
- Supporting the Growth Platform Director and Manager in achieving strategic and commercial goals.
- Facilitating the development and delivery of innovations between toll-gate 3 (Concept) and 6 (Commercialization).
- Preparing decision-making materials in alignment with the Strategic Innovation Playbook.
- Organizing production trials and customer pilots, including sample production coordination, international shipments, invoicing, and customer service support.
- Collaborating with markets to assist in business development through consumer and market research, customer conversation preparation, commercial data collection, and marketing collateral development.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity for career advancement within DS Smith.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in packaging manufacturing or operations.
- Knowledge of supply chain management.
- Skills in designing and implementing new processes.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- International work experience, preferably in multiple DS Smith locations.
- A self-motivated and hands-on approach.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability to changing environments.
- Effective stakeholder management capabilities.
- A university degree at the Master's level is preferred but not mandatory.
- Aspirations to develop into a business leader within DS Smith.
