Job Title: Deputy Director Policy

Children First, a dynamic child advocacy organization, seeks a highly motivated Deputy Director to connect staff and processes, streamlining work and boosting effectiveness. This integral role ensures all staff are aligned towards a common goal, enhancing our impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deploy project management systems for ongoing and special projects, requiring intra-team planning.
  2. Identify pathways and manage engagement systems to connect supporters to advocacy initiatives.
  3. Improve internal communications and build staff skills in using current platforms to boost advocacy impact and support fundraising and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Draft technical documents, including job positions, internal meeting minutes, internal protocols and policies, letters of agreement, board documents, and contract scopes of service.
  5. Manage the process of regularly updating protocols for risk assessment and remediation.
  6. Identify training needs of the team and work with the Executive Director to meet those needs.
Requirements:
  1. Experience with project management systems and processes.
  2. A track record of successfully managing multiple projects and deploying project management technology in a fast-paced workplace.
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize critical information for executive decision making.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills to enable staff to contribute to decision making and initiative success.
  5. Experience writing technical documents that are clear and precise.
  6. Creative problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and achieve higher impact.
  7. Highly organized with quick recall and ability to track down details or needed information.
  8. A patient listener who can gather useful information to solve organizational operational and system problems.
