Are you a VAT expert looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for tax and a desire to work on complex transactions? We have an exciting opportunity for a VAT specialist to join our Restructuring Services Tax team at Teneo.

About the Role

As a VAT specialist, you will be working on a range of high-profile and dynamic transactions, providing tax advice on the restructuring of financially distressed businesses. You will be part of a team that has built a fantastic track record in recent years, leading on some of the UK's largest and most complex restructuring processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising insolvency practitioners on the VAT consequences of their intended actions during an insolvency process;
  • Advising companies, lenders, and other stakeholders on the VAT implications of complex restructuring processes;
  • Liaising with HMRC on technical and compliance queries;
  • Responding to day-to-day VAT queries from internal restructuring business units;
  • Preparing VAT reports and other deliverables;
  • Supporting business development activities;
  • Contributing to the technical development of the wider restructuring business;
  • Working collaboratively with the wider restructuring team and tax team to enhance processes and controls.

We are looking for a VAT specialist with strong UK VAT technical skills, strong communication and team-playing skills, and the ability to perform strongly under pressure. Prior experience of transactions or insolvency processes is preferred but not essential.
