Lead for Essential Clinical Training Review

The Lead for Essential Clinical Training Review is a key role within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for leading the review of clinical training needs and mapping essential training programmes.
About the RoleThis exciting, fixed-term position requires a strong leader who can develop and maintain productive working relationships across the Trust and with education partners. The post-holder will be responsible for:
- Reviewing existing training programmes and generating a report of key findings
- Working with clinical trainers and education practitioners to map educational programmes and ensure stakeholder engagement
- Developing a programme of clinical skills and acute skills training, collaborating with stakeholders in Education, Learning & Development, workforce leads, and Trust communications team
- Communicating complex messages and proposals effectively with staff at all levels, including Board and Non-Executive Director level, and with partnering organisations
The post-holder will lead the implementation of the acute and clinical skills training needs analysis and review, working closely with the Head of Education, Learning and Development Service and Senior Team. Key deliverables include:
- Establishing a robust reporting process for clinical skills competencies
- Developing a method of enrolment to specific training at the point of appointment
- Leading on the delivery of a Career Pathway for educators within the organisation
- Auditing, reviewing, and evaluating education activity that supports Trust Strategic objectives
The ideal candidate will have:
- Active registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
- United Kingdom recognised Degree in a relevant subject or other equivalent programme of education
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of a professional portfolio and registration revalidation
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Completed or working towards a Post Graduate Qualification in a relevant field
- Experience of working in an acute clinical environment
- Previous experience in delivering healthcare education and training
