Position Summary:

The Lead Scientist plays a pivotal role within our laboratory team, managing multiple intricate projects aimed at addressing complex technical challenges while ensuring the execution of high-quality experimental work in accordance with all safety and quality protocols. This position entails the planning and execution of sophisticated experiments, alongside mentoring junior team members in their project endeavors. The Lead Scientist will also identify and implement enhancements in both technical and operational aspects. Collaboration with clients is essential to comprehend their requirements, design experimental workflows that align with their expectations, present updates on project milestones, and address any inquiries they may have.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plan and oversee the work of team members.
  • Lead and take responsibility for the successful delivery of various projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, while maintaining timely completion of project dashboards.
  • Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues related to technical aspects, resources, customer needs, and costs.
  • Facilitate problem-solving, troubleshooting, and lessons learned sessions.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to junior staff as necessary.
  • Serve as a role model for effective communication and best practices within the Development Services team.
  • Accountable for the technical content and resource allocation in customer proposals.
  • Contribute to departmental enhancements and improvements.
  • Review and compose reports to a standard suitable for final evaluation by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline is required.
  • Extensive proficiency in Biacore - SPR, with 3 to 5 years of experience in developing and troubleshooting SPR methodologies.
