About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Technologist to join our team at LeMieux. As a Product Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and technical accuracy of our horse products and accessories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Coordination: Manage the fit and technical process of all horse products and accessories from initial sample to delivery handover.
  • Quality Control: Check the quality and makeup of samples across multiple product areas, and oversee all aspects of garment fit, testing, and wearer trials.
  • Communication: Relay fit comments and amendments to suppliers, and maintain accurate fit records.
  • Technical Pack Creation: Work with Design to create clear technical packs, including size specs and construction details, to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
  • Sampling Process: Monitor the sampling process, update the critical path, and ensure timely delivery of samples.
  • Test Report Creation: Create and approve test reports, and maintain a physical sample library and storage.
  • Historical Data Management: Keep accurate logs and updates of sample status, and check incoming samples for measurement and design discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in Quality Control, checking production and received stock for sizing and fabric consistency, and work with the Returns department to improve product quality.
  • Supplier Liaison: Maintain daily liaison with overseas suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and the critical path stays up to date.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Proven industry experience in a similar role, preferably in sports/equestrian wear product development.
  • Qualifications: Product/Garment Technologist Qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of garment fit, technical construction, and makeup, and confident in grading and sizing.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Overseas Experience: Experience working with overseas factories.
  • Time Management: Ability to follow and manage their time according to the critical path.
  • CAD Skills: CAD skills and experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage.
  • Microsoft Office: Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator with excellent organisation skills.
  • Flexibility: Flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
  • Initiative: Ability to take initiative in any given role and be willing to assist where necessary.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work alone, on one's own initiative, as well as within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Equestrian Background: An equestrian background is not essential but would be an advantage, being passionate about product is essential, as is taking an interest in the equestrian world.
