Contract Overview

We are seeking a Project Coordinator for a 13-week contract focused on the delivery of projects within the Transport Infrastructure team. This role will involve a hybrid working model, requiring one day per week in the office.

Position Details

Location: Hybrid role – a combination of office and site-based work.

Assignment Duration: Up to 13-week blocks in line with organizational policy.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week.

IR35 Status: Inside IR35.

Ideal Qualifications: HNC or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or substantial relevant experience.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated success in leading the planning and execution of transport infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience in programme and project management with a strong track record of successful delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical and contractual obligations related to project development, construction, and maintenance.
  • Experience managing budgets, including local government financial practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with elected officials to ensure project outcomes align with political priorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the capability to build effective relationships with senior personnel across various organizations.
  • Practical experience in engaging with consultants and contractors.
  • Ability to foster partnerships with other agencies to meet project objectives.
  • Proven expertise in financial and resource planning, ensuring value for money in contracts.
  • Experience in contract procurement and management, particularly with NEC 3/4 frameworks.
  • Familiarity with service and framework contracts relevant to public sector highway projects.
  • Experience in developing targeted strategies and prioritizing actions for performance improvements.
  • Proficient in the latest project management software tools, including MS Project.
  • Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups in the delivery of complex transport projects.
  • Experience in managing and developing a skilled, multi-disciplinary workforce.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and provide strategic reports on project progress to governing bodies.
  • Strong practical design experience and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and Construction Design and Management (CDM) requirements.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of local government complexities and relevant issues.
  • Familiarity with County Council policies, planning frameworks, and transport plans.
  • Knowledge of County Council standing orders and financial regulations.
  • Ability to utilize Computer Aided Design software.

Project Management Responsibilities

Provide leadership within the Project Delivery team to ensure effective project execution that enhances the transport infrastructure network.

Offer expert advice on highway engineering, project management, procurement, community engagement, and infrastructure maintenance.

Prepare detailed technical reports promptly, ensuring clarity and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Direct and manage project delivery to meet high-quality standards, timelines, and budgetary goals.
