Exciting Opportunity for a Banking and Finance Solicitor

We are seeking an experienced Banking and Finance Solicitor to join our team at Jameson Legal in Edinburgh or Glasgow. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile transactions and provide expert legal advice across a range of banking and finance matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Agreements and Security Documents: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various loan agreements, including those based on funder proformas and Loan Market Association standards.
  • Banking Advice: Offering general banking advice to both borrowers and funders, covering facilities, securities, and complex funding arrangements.
  • Corporate Funding Documents: Drafting, negotiating, and revising corporate funding documents, ensuring compliance with legal standards and client requirements.
  • Transaction Support: Collaborating with property and corporate colleagues to address the banking and finance aspects of various transactions.
  • Referral Work and Legal Opinions: Handling referral work from London-based law firms and other entities, focusing on Scots law issues in banking and finance. Providing expert legal opinions in these areas.
  • Real Estate Finance: Expertise in real estate finance, including development, investment, leisure, and healthcare sectors.
  • Project Finance: Proficiency in project finance, with a focus on renewables and energy.
  • Asset Finance: Knowledge of asset finance, secured lending, and general banking.

Requirements: Proficiency in banking and security arrangements, with a robust understanding of related legal principles and industry standards.
