Position Title: Personal Assistant for a Non-Verbal Child
- Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
- Working Hours: 7 hours per week (2 afternoons during the week)
- Compensation: £13.00 per hour
- Requirement: Must be a car owner and driver
We are looking for a dedicated Personal Assistant to provide support to a lively non-verbal child diagnosed with autism. The role involves engaging the child in various activities that foster independence and personal growth. The child enjoys a range of experiences, including games, outdoor excursions, and visits to recreational areas.
The responsibilities of this position include accompanying the child to various venues, ensuring a safe and enriching atmosphere. Effective communication will be facilitated through PECS, a Now and Next board, and non-verbal cues.
The ideal candidate will be patient and understanding, allowing the child the necessary space and time to develop autonomy and confidence. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
