About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Workstream Lead to join our Finance Transformation team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of our Finance change programme and Finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting Policy & Chart Of Accounts Alignment: Ensure that all requirements to align and consolidate into M&S from a technical accounting perspective are determined and implemented ahead of the transition period.
  • Technical/Complex Accounting Solutions: Review key complex accounting areas across our business processes, applying appropriate IFRS standards, ensuring any process and recognition changes are met and supporting with external audits across the transition period.
  • Business Revaluation Support: Be the key contact and support for any business revaluation activity carried out by our shareholders.
  • Cutover Planning & Delivery: Plan and execute the key accounting activities for the cutover period to the M&S financial year, ensuring any key system and reporting changes are delivered as part of the programme.
  • Intercompany & Third Party Relationships: Ensure all accounting requirements and intercompany processes are met across intercompany and third parties as the business transitions from one intercompany relationship to another.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA)
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience of applying accounting standards to technical accounting problems, preferably in the context of business change/projects/M&A and executing process change to support technical requirements.
  • Ability to simplify complexity both in terms of communication style but also in terms of converting complex problem statements into simple, focused and clear solutions.
  • Takes a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Committed team player who is able to manage vertically and horizontally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and influencing skills.
