Position Overview
We are seeking a Heritage Collections Coordinator to become a vital part of our Heritage and Archive team within the Creative Engagement department. This role is offered on a part-time, fixed-term basis.
The Southbank Centre Archive is an extensive collection, encompassing over 3000 boxes and 1.5 kilometres of diverse materials, including documents, photographs, artifacts, recordings, and digital content. This collection narrates the rich history of the Southbank Centre since its inception during the Festival of Britain.
As we move forward, we are implementing a comprehensive vision for the archive that aligns with our Creative Engagement initiatives. Our current focus is on innovative ways to honor our heritage and create accessible pathways for the public to engage with our collection.
The Cultural Archive Specialist will spearhead the development and execution of our renowned participatory collections management program. Collaborating closely with the public, archive team, and broader creative engagement units, you will design and facilitate workshops that highlight the archive's key priorities. Additionally, you will enhance public access to the collection by managing our research and inquiry service, ensuring an exceptional experience for academics, artists, and the general public.
