We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Compliance Coordinator to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our Depot Transport Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our depot remains legally compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Depot Transport Team in delivering transport change projects, identifying opportunities for further transport optimization, and understanding the balance between service and cost.
- Work with the Depot Transport Team to review existing transport and fleet legislative requirements, understand processes, and support operational adherence.
- Review changes in legislation and work with the Depot Transport Team to support implementation of compliance changes, providing information gathered from various systems.
- Provide data and insight for compliance adherence across operational process compliance, fleet compliance, transport compliance, and transport training and agency induction compliance.
- Coordinate Logistics UK audits and work together with our H&S team in instances of H&S and Transport/Fleet compliance overlap.
- Take ownership of your tasks, constantly strive to improve your performance, and show enthusiasm and initiative for new ideas.
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships across various stakeholders, including Union partnerships.
- Operate within legislation, policy, and process in all matters ranging from people management to safety, health, and environment.
- Liaise with vehicle maintenance units to understand fleet movements and guarantee the correct information is received/transferred to ensure the business remains legally compliant.
- Contribute to the development of an accident and damage spend reduction plan, working with the operational management team and VMUs to identify trend analysis.
- Assist with other administrative or clerical duties as designated by the Line Manager.
- CPC certificate would be beneficial, but is not essential.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and process in all matters relating to your working location.
- Awareness of the need to build relationships with peers and stakeholders and be authentic in building and maintaining these.
- Ability to make decisions within given procedures and guidelines to achieve a given outcome.
- Ability to break down issues and analyze data to solve problems and build on your expertise.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize your workload to meet deadlines and timescales.
- Build collaborative working relationships and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders across various levels.
- Confident in making decisions in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Awareness of working in a highly Unionized environment.
- Fleet or transport experience is desirable.
- Access to supporting functions within the wider Supply Chain and Logistics team, including Operational Execution and Reporting & Insight.
