Overview:

As a Shift Operations Supervisor, you will guide the station team to ensure outstanding customer service while maintaining safety and compliance with established standards. This role is crucial in delivering a premier customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the station team, including agency personnel, to foster a secure environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
  2. Direct station staff activities in accordance with safety protocols, ensuring accurate documentation of checks and addressing non-compliance to enhance standards.
  3. Collaborate with all station users to maintain a safe and secure atmosphere, proactively preventing accidents and managing incident reporting and investigations.
  4. Respond to emergencies and incidents following established procedures, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  5. Provide customer service support and assist Shift Station Managers in elevating service standards through operational monitoring and feedback.
  6. Conduct shift briefings, assign responsibilities, ensure proper use of equipment, and arrange cover for roles on short notice.
  7. Engage with the British Transport Police and other law enforcement agencies to implement strategies aimed at preventing criminal activities at the station.
  8. Perform regular station inspections, taking initiative to address hazards or unsafe conditions, and ensure all incidents are logged appropriately.
  9. Execute assigned duties as outlined in emergency plans, ensuring the team adheres to these protocols diligently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in handling various situations with confidence.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Educational background including GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Experience managing challenging or confrontational scenarios.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Willingness to complete Station Incident Officer Training upon appointment.

Desirable:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • Conversational proficiency in a language other than English.
