Lead Assembly Technician

Position Summary:
We are in search of a proficient and committed Senior Assembly Technician to enhance our workforce on a permanent basis.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Senior Assembly Technician, you will be pivotal in the assembly of ECS products, ensuring they conform to the highest quality benchmarks and follow the established production protocols.
- Execute the assembly of ECS products and cable assemblies by adhering to comprehensive Assembly Instructions (AI's), diagrams, or verbal directives.
- Carry out meticulous PCB assembly manually, utilizing soldering tools and SMT components.
- Rigorously follow the production process, guaranteeing that all units comply with the standards established by Quality Assurance inspectors.
- Perform assembly tasks using magnifying devices or microscopes as necessary.
- Assume full accountability for the assembly and inspection of products up to the testing phase of production.
- Consistently adhere to the company's ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
- Work in accordance with IPC-A610 & IPC-WHMAA620 standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth transitions from product prototypes to testing phases.
- Identify and report any manufacturing issues, such as the use of incorrect components, directly to the line manager/supervisor and design authority, ensuring no changes are made without prior approval.
- Propose and implement enhancements to assembly processes, improving product and system efficiency.
- Assist in the transition of new designs from Engineering to production, aiding in prototype construction when required.
- Provide support in other manufacturing stages to help meet urgent deadlines.
- Ensure all products and modules are constructed in accordance with documentation, complying with DAOS procedures.
- Follow all relevant Health and Safety regulations diligently.
- Actively engage in and support the continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, in alignment with the Enterprise Control Systems Quality Management System.
- Accurately adhere to route card processes in Syspro, maintaining all pertinent log books.
- Manufacture products to ISO9001 standards as specified in the Quality Management System.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Extensive experience in assembly and soldering, particularly with SMT components.
- Proficiency in adhering to IPC-A610 & IPC-WHMAA620 standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the capability to identify and resolve issues in the assembly process.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
