Job Summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a dynamic and assertive Deputy Team Leader to join our Orthopaedic Theatres team. As a key member of our Theatre Directorate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatres and providing exceptional patient care.

Main Duties

As a Deputy Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the kit coordinator for the department, arranging equipment and liaising with surgeons and company representatives to ensure efficient and safe operating practices.
  • Managing theatre caseload and taking charge of the unit when required.
  • Supporting the Orthopaedic Team Leader in providing safe and quality patient care, while meeting the requirements of Clinical Futures.
  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to improve patient outcomes and theatre efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience as a Band 5 in a scrub role.
  • Evidence of shift/Team leading experience.
  • Ability to manage theatre caseload and take charge of the unit when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organisational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Recognised theatre practice qualification.
  • Team leader experience.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.
  • Evidence of leadership skills and ability to develop autonomous practice.
