Job Title: Assistant Optical Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Optical Manager to join our team at Health Care Personnel. As a key member of our optical group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our practice.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Practice Efficiency: Ensure the practice operates efficiently and effectively, adhering to organizational procedures and protocols.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring total satisfaction with products and services.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate effective leadership skills, motivating and supporting staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Practice Growth: Identify opportunities to drive practice growth, increasing patient numbers and sales targets.
  • Profitability: Achieve maximum profitability while maintaining exceptional standards of quality and customer service.
  • Quality Control: Ensure quality control in all areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Stock Control: Manage stock control effectively, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing Department to maximize marketing effectiveness at a local level.
  • Cost Efficiency: Drive cost efficiencies, optimizing resources and reducing waste.
  • Spectacle Dispensing: Dispense spectacles to prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Personal Specification:
  • Management Experience: Previous management experience or a proven track record of developing and supporting staff.
  • Customer Service: Strong background in customer service, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Business Performance: Experience of driving business performance, including sales, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiencies.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and engage staff at all levels.
  • Professionalism: Ability to act with professionalism, tact, and discretion in all situations.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, and provide cover to other practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of the job.
Job Details:
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Pay: £20,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
  • Additional Pay: Bonus scheme
  • Benefits: Company events, company pension, employee discount, private dental insurance, private medical insurance, sick pay, store discount
  • Schedule: 8 hour shift, day shift, Monday to Friday, weekend availability
  • Ability to Commute/Relocate: Blandford Forum, Dorset: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
