Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Engine Validation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activities related to diesel engine validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate system and component validation plans (DVP – Design Verification Plan) based on risk identified within DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
  • Specify test requirements and define engine build and instrumentation requirements through collaboration with relevant engineering teams
  • Engine dyno testing: engine endurance
  • Validation test work on internal machines
  • Upon test completion, document conclusions and recommendations, complete reports, and update DFMEA with learning/results from test work

Requirements

  • Experience of industrial diesel engine applications, construction machinery, or generating sets
  • Experience of proactive reliability and demonstration of product quality
  • Experience of DFMEA facilitation, creation, and validation planning
  • Proven project management experience related to diesel engine development
  • 6 Sigma Methodology and Continuous Process Improvement
  • Ability to troubleshoot build and test issues, and work with component owners and engine test engineers to complete validation test sign-off
  • Ability to analyze engine data and use it to drive business decisions with clear, concise conclusions
