Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Engine Validation Engineer to join our team. As a Diesel Engine Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engineering activity related to the validation of new diesel engine technology and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate system & component validation plans (DVP – Design Verification Plan) based on risk identified within DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis)
  • Specify test requirements and define engine build & instrumentation requirements through collaboration with relevant engineering teams.
  • Engine dyno testing: engine endurance
  • validation test work on internal machines
  • Upon test completion - document conclusions and recommendations, complete reports and update DFMEA with learning/results from test work.

Requirements

  • Experience of industrial diesel engine applications, construction machinery or generating sets
  • Experience of Proactive Reliability, and demonstration of Product Quality
  • Experience of DFMEA facilitation, creation and validation planning
  • Proven project management experience related to Diesel Engine development
  • 6 Sigma Methodology and Continuous Process Improvement
  • Ability to troubleshoot build and test issues, and work with component owners and engine test engineers to complete validation test sign-off
  • Ability to analyse engine data and use it to drive business decisions with clear, concise conclusions.
