About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to join our pioneering Biotech, Cell and Gene team at TTP. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment and software on PLC and SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop bespoke hardware solutions for cell and gene therapy manufacture
  • Collaborate closely with life scientists, software engineers, and mechanical engineers to deliver technically challenging, multi-phase development projects
  • Develop and implement control systems for process control environments
  • Work with PLCs, SCADA systems, and other industrial automation technologies
  • Develop software for communication protocols, including OPC-UA, MQTT, and Modbus
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of control system specification, architecture design methodologies, and familiarity with various requirements management and system modelling tools
  • Experience working with PLCs in process control environments
  • Excellent communication skills to summarise project status and discuss critical issues/milestones with colleagues and external clients
  • Excellent academic record with a 1st or 2:1 degree in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
