The Senior Financial Strategist will play a pivotal role in delivering a thorough business planning and treasury accounting service for the organization by developing, assessing, and advising on the Group's Treasury Strategy and Policy. This position will also ensure adherence to essential regulatory standards across the Group.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a crucial position responsible for formulating and preparing the Group's long-term business strategy and ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to meet the achievement of their strategic goals.

You will oversee the development and management of the Calico Group's Treasury Strategy, ensuring that the business plan is sufficiently funded, evaluated, and sanctioned by the Board on an annual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating the 30-year business plans against actual performance metrics
  • Formulating Calico's approach to stress testing and collaborating with the business to devise and review suitable mitigations
  • Accountable for preparing the Group's cash flow statements, reports for funders and security trustees, and managing daily banking operations
  • Providing financial analysis to support regulatory submissions
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Group's statutory financial statements
  • Drafting reports for the Board

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges within the charity and housing sectors, including the regulatory frameworks that govern the Group's operations
  • Experience in treasury management processes and financial planning is essential – capable of modeling and conducting stress tests
  • Significant accounting experience encompassing statutory accounts, financial accounts, cash flow management, and credit control/debt management
  • Familiarity with BRIXX business planning software is desirable
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
  • A proven track record of effectively leading, developing, and motivating teams, as well as building and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
