About the Role
Birtwistles Food Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Operations Lead to oversee all aspects of our production operations during the overnight hours. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee complete order processing aligned with critical dispatch deadlines.
- Manage the loading and trunking operation for outgoing shipments, collaborating closely with the Transport Manager.
- Drive performance towards established KPI targets in conjunction with the General Manager and Operations Director.
- Effectively manage staff costs and headcount to achieve agreed-upon budget objectives.
- Supervise and coordinate all production activities conducted during the night shift.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the Technical department.
- Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of staff skills through training and coaching initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive reports on night shift operational performance at weekly management meetings.
- Oversee the work of input clerks, liaising directly with the Sales Office Support Manager.
- Engage with our valued customers through telephone interactions.
- Administer holiday shift patterns in accordance with company policy, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Collaborate with HR regarding timekeeping, absences, and adherence to Company Absence Procedure & Policy, Discipline and Grievance procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven experience in operations management, production, packing, leadership, training, coaching, time management, HR, KPI tracking, and reporting. Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Factory Manager, Production Manager, or Supervisor would be highly advantageous.
