North American Construction Services, Ltd. is seeking a full-time Construction Manager to enhance our operations.
As a dynamic subsidiary of Fives North American Combustion, we have a rich history of innovative engineering, fabrication, and construction in the realm of industrial thermal processes. Our expertise ranges from designing and constructing advanced furnaces to providing retrofits and upgrades, alongside comprehensive lifecycle service and maintenance for various industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise company superintendents.
- Organize and manage operations on construction sites.
- Plan, coordinate, budget, and oversee construction projects from start to finish.
- Develop work procedures and manage quality control initiatives.
- Assist in controlling project costs and scheduling.
- Support business development efforts.
- Address escalated operational issues requiring interdepartmental coordination.
- Foster strong working relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, managers, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and team members.
- Assess labor needs, recruit necessary talent, and allocate workers to job sites.
- Collaborate with procurement to select suitable materials and plan logistics for delivery to construction sites.
- Manage project logistics, including equipment and material handling.
- Review contract drawings and specifications for feasibility and compliance with operational constraints and existing conditions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 70% of the time.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Project Field Engineer role for industrial or commercial projects.
- Residing in or willing to relocate to the Birmingham, Alabama area.
- Familiarity with thermal processes and refractory work.
- Proficient in construction scheduling and software such as MS Project.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, project management, or engineering is preferred.
- CPM or PMP certification is advantageous.
