The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering design & build and refit projects nationwide, ranging in value from £50k to £2m.

  1. 5+ years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor or a Fit-Out Contractor
  2. Strong knowledge of commercial and construction contracts such as JCT
  3. Background in fit out or commercial construction
  4. Knowledge of refit and refurbishment projects with values ranging between £50k - £2m
  5. Good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations
  6. Well organized, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works
  7. Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Submission of interim payment applications
  2. Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports / Project cost control
  3. Assisting with all commercial aspects of allocated projects
  4. Preparation and submission of interim valuations
  5. Manage and value variations
  6. Attend meetings for the agreement of final accounts
  7. Post contract liaison with clients
  8. Sub-contract negotiation and letting
  9. Joint responsibility for managing contract costs including payments to sub-contractors
  10. Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports
  11. Assist with the management of contractual documentation and letters / Understanding of sub-contracts
  12. Placing sub-contract orders
