Position Overview:
Are you an individual who thrives in collaborative environments, focused on crafting a data-driven strategic vision, establishing a comprehensive plan, and formulating actionable tactics to achieve measurable goals?
The Economy and Skills Team at Hampshire County Council, part of the Hampshire 2050 Directorate, is in search of a Skills Development Manager. This pivotal role will spearhead the formulation and execution of Hampshire's Skills Strategy, partnering closely with the Economy team, local employers, educational institutions, and various community stakeholders.
The Skills Strategy aims to create a strategic framework for skills development in the region, articulating a clear vision for the employment and skills requirements of the local economy, along with essential actions to enhance Hampshire's economic growth, innovation, and skill enhancement.
Reporting to the Strategic Skills Lead and collaborating with the Strategic Funding Manager, this position will engage with key internal and external partners to shape the Skills Strategy and oversee the implementation of the related action plan.
Strategic partners will require ongoing insights into the local economy and labor market to evaluate the relevance of the Skills Strategy outputs. Consequently, this role will liaise closely with the Intelligence Team and serve as a primary contact for the two Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) and the post-16 provider network, ensuring that skills support aligns with employer needs and fosters economic advancement.
Key Responsibilities of this dynamic role include:
- Providing guidance on identifying and securing funding for skills programs.
- Facilitating a cohesive and integrated approach to skills and career development.
- Ensuring alignment between the Hampshire Skills and Economic strategies.
