Residential Support Worker Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team at a school in Barnsley. In this role, you will play a vital part in the lives of young people, providing essential care and support as they develop independence and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive daily care and support to students residing at the school.
- Actively contribute to the personal, social, and educational growth of each student.
- Cultivate a safe, positive, and supportive environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Assist students with their daily routines, including meals, activities, and personal care tasks.
- Monitor and document students' progress and well-being, ensuring their needs are met.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to create a cohesive and effective support system for each student.
- Empower students to develop essential life skills, social skills, and emotional resilience.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Residential Support Worker.
- Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of every student.
Your Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Residential Support Worker or in a similar role working with young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their holistic development.
- A current enhanced DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
