Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team at Lawes Consulting Group. As a Senior Underwriter - Complex Renewals, you will be responsible for driving the profitable expansion of our regional renewal business, assessing larger and more intricate risks, and collaborating with our top-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a reputation as the go-to underwriter across the region, consistently and profitably underwriting larger, more intricate cases.
- Collaborate effectively within a structured regional team, prioritizing branch trading and delivering high-quality results while managing a case load independently.
- Spearhead and implement the local underwriting strategy for your specialized area in coordination with the Regional Manager and Regional Underwriting Manager.
- Take ownership of the target retention rate for your caseload and region, providing support as needed.
- Stay abreast of the competitive landscape, from market shifts to new product launches.
Essential Experience:
- Strong commercial and/or financial lines underwriting experience, with a thorough grasp of the businesses' products and the capacity to underwrite larger, more intricate risks effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of the insurance market, including industry dynamics, competitors, brokers, and factors influencing market conditions such as soft/hard markets.
- Strong trading acumen and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
