We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Group Controllership team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, as well as providing technical accounting guidance and support to our business units.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the accurate and timely monthly and annual closings/analysis in compliance with Swift quality standards.
- Be in charge of ad hoc in-depth accounting treatment analyses and provide information, documentation, comments, and recommendations to management and concerned departments.
- Prepare closing notes for the annual report and support in the audit process.
- Maintain contacts with relevant internal and external parties to answer queries, capture information, and resolve pending issues.
- Coordinate relationships with internal and external collaborators, such as Pricing and FP&A departments, accounting system experts, and financial auditors.
- Find opportunities for process and internal control improvements and lead and/or control implementations of solutions.
- Build and maintain working knowledge and understanding of key business drivers and strategy for the area of expertise.
- Support the rest of the team on group general accounting processes, including consolidation, intercompany, and monthly closing processes, entity controlling of the group, and headquarters.
- University degree in Finance and Economics or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience within a financial position, of which 3 years in a financial audit company.
- Good SAP knowledge.
- Proficient in general ledger accounting, including accrual/deferral, costs, and revenue recognition principles.
- Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
- Fluent in English.
- French or Dutch language skills are a nice to have.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and related account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of the reconciliation tool Blackline is an asset.
