Job Overview:
We are looking for a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Cover Supervisor to become a vital part of our educational team on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will take on the responsibility of providing PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) cover across multiple classes, with the opportunity for a transition to a permanent role based on demonstrated performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver PPA cover across various classes, ensuring educational continuity in the absence of the class teacher.
2. Lead and manage entire classes, delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
3. Work across a range of subjects, with the option to specialize in areas such as Art, Music, PE, or others, depending on your expertise and the school's requirements.
4. Adapt teaching methods to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).5. Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure all students receive a high-quality education.
6. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages student engagement and progress.
7. Undertake additional relevant duties as assigned by the school leadership team.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience as an HLTA or Cover Supervisor, with a strong history of leading whole classes.
2. Experience working with students with SLD and PMLD.
3. Excellent classroom management abilities and the capacity to engage and motivate students.
4. Flexibility and adaptability in covering a variety of subjects.
5. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Skills:
1. Specialization in Art, Music, PE, or another subject that could enhance our curriculum.
2. Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with complex needs.
