Sutton Council is seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Partner to join its shared finance service with Kingston Council. This key role supports the Strategic Finance Business Partner (Adults Social Care) by providing expert support for services and their budget managers.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for:
- Delivering high-quality support to budget managers to ensure effective financial processes and activities, including planning and budgets, financial management and monitoring, and year-end processes.
- Supporting budget managers to fulfill their financial responsibilities and provide strategic guidance.
- Acting as a critical friend to budget managers to ensure that forecasts and financial modeling are robust and realistic.
- Supporting the Better Care Fund financial administration and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Reviewing service databases to create valuable analysis and insight to inform financial processes.
- Assisting in the completion of statutory returns and ad-hoc requests for information.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience providing high-quality business partner support to budget managers in a large organization.
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, with the ability to discuss, analyze, and present finance concepts and processes in a range of ways.
It is desirable that candidates have experience supporting adults social care services in a local authority.
