Job Title: Senior Category Manager

We are partnering with a leading automotive OEM to find an experienced Category Manager to manage one of their key categories and teams.

About the Role:

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that align with the company's overall business goals and objectives.

You will lead a team of Category Buyers, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing category strategies
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Category Buyers
  • Managing full end-to-end strategic supplier identification, vetting, onboarding, and management
  • Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives while maintaining or improving product quality and lead times
  • Monitoring supplier performance and escalating issues
  • Presenting category performance and market insights to senior management
Requirements:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with:

  • Proven experience as a senior Procurement specialist in the automotive, electronics, aerospace, or other relevant manufacturing industries
  • Previous experience working for an OEM is highly desirable
  • Previous team management or leadership experience is essential
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth understanding of strategic procurement processes
  • Strong ERP systems and Excel skills
  • CIPS qualification is ideal
