Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Randstad Education. As a specialist in autism interventions, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to students with autism in a school setting.

About the Role:

This is a lead position, requiring a Health Professionals License to Practice. You will work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the assessment, treatment, implementation, and documentation of occupational therapy interventions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Adopt a neurodiversity-affirming approach to clinical practice, using professional autonomy and informed by Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to assess, develop, and implement highly specialist occupational therapy interventions.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary approach across the school, providing advice on the management of students with sensory, motor difficulties, and behavioral needs.
  • Act as a source of expertise in providing occupational therapy specialist assessment, recommendations, and intervention using complex and advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Commit to and implement evidence-based practice, using research and audit opportunities to support the efficacy of therapeutic interventions.
  • Review and implement occupational therapy interventions to ensure they meet the needs of pupils, using advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Assess, report, and contribute to LEA Annual Reviews of children holding EHCPs, as required.
  • Have a good working knowledge of clinical governance principles and their application to ensure best practice.
  • Attend parent evenings, staff meetings, and participate in the planning and delivery of training as required.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Health Professions Council License to Practice.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, including in-depth experience in autism and school-based interventions.
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Clinical practice embedded in a neurodiversity paradigm.
  • Evidence of responsibility for staff and caseload management.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of interventions relevant to autistic students.
  • Sound knowledge of service delivery models and clinical governance.
