We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Sister to join our Urology Ward team at the Churchill Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the unit, acting as a role model for junior staff and students, and supporting the delivery of compassionate excellence.

Main Responsibilities

As a Deputy Sister, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff and students
  • Supporting the ward sister in the management of the unit
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans
  • Deputizing for the ward sister in their absence

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team at the Churchill Hospital. As a Deputy Sister, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills, work closely with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-registration experience at Band 5/6
  • Surgical/Urology surgery experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of multidisciplinary collaborative practice
  • Good organisational skills
  • IT and data analysis skills
  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Leadership experience

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • GCSE English and maths A-C
  • Diploma/Degree nursing qualification
  • NMC registration

Desirable Criteria

  • MSC in a relevant subject to the role
