Job Title: People & Business Partner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People & Business Partner to join our Central Team at Village Hotels. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our hotels, driving employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations:
    • Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, flexible working requests, and long-term sick leave.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including NMW and HMRC practices.
    • Coach and mentor managers to improve performance around HR issues and reduce cases.
  • Systems / Compliance:
    • Audit working patterns for all contract types and employee information on systems.
    • Review L&D completion for your properties and drive to close the gap.
  • Culture:
    • Engage in Big People Days and Village Green Initiatives.
    • Engage with teams, get to know each team, and drive them to success.
    • Drive the L&D strategy of the business by enrolling, encouraging, and mentoring those who want to take the next step.
  • Recruitment:
    • Identify recruitment needs and support Hotel GMs and HODs to fill.
    • Support with recruitment, assessment days, and interviewing.
    • Support with the induction and onboarding process.
  • Employee Life Cycle:
    • Support with start-to-end employment journey processes.
    • Support with driving the Be My Guest programme and access to reduce 90-day turnover.
  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion:
    • Ensure compliance with legislation and Village values.
    • Ambassador of the ED&I values.
  • HR Training:
    • Support with the delivery of HR training sessions, including disciplinary and grievance, discrimination and banter, and soft skills.
    • Identify and support with any HR skill gaps.
    • Drive the Group's multi-skill initiative.
  • Legislative Training:
    • Drive completion in key legislative areas with the support of the General Manager.
  • Internal Development:
    • Support with the rollout and delivery of our internal development programmes, supporting the growth of our teams.
  • Apprenticeship:
    • Support with managing the Apprenticeship Levy and ensuring we are utilizing the fund to its full potential, allowing us to upskill our teams.
Requirements:
  • CIPD Level 5 or above.
  • Strong employment law knowledge.
  • Generalist HR experience.
  • Proven experience in managing remotely.
  • Autonomous and self-driven.
  • Impartial, striving to the needs of the business.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbally.
  • Attention to detail.
