About the Role

In response to the ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiencies, a new team has been established within the research laboratories. This team is dedicated to supporting the daily functions of scientists and ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility. The focus will be on implementing optimized processes aimed at fostering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold high standards of laboratory safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide immediate support to laboratory users regarding operational procedures and facility setup.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of raw materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for the acquisition of necessary materials.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance in collaboration with internal and external engineers.
  • Utilize management software for tracking inventory, equipment bookings, and lifecycle management.
  • Deliver training to new laboratory personnel, including software usage.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies to laboratory workstations.
  • Collaborate with service providers to accurately log incoming goods.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for raw materials and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical safety regulations and maintain data integrity.
  • Safely handle and dispense chemicals as required.
  • Develop and refine operational processes and recommend enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience in laboratory coordination or pilot plant operations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management software, including LIMS.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project tracking skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and general laboratory equipment.
  • Experience in handling chemicals safely.
