We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Recovery Champion. As a key member of our community outreach team, you will play a vital role in promoting harm reduction and supporting individuals affected by drugs and alcohol.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in open access areas, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, identifying individuals who may benefit from our services and connecting them with relevant support.
- Collaborate with team members to share best practices and develop innovative solutions to support our clients.
- Meet with individuals to discuss their personal goals and support needs, providing guidance and resources to aid in their recovery journey.
- Utilize existing local resources and build community awareness, signposting individuals to relevant agencies and services.
- Work closely with the Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator to identify specialist advice and support opportunities.
We are looking for an individual with lived experience of drug or alcohol misuse, who possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and mutual support.
- Confident in working with individuals who may present with complex needs, remaining empathetic and non-judgmental at all times.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Willingness to travel as required, including areas with limited public transportation.
