Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team in the Non-Vesicular Reference Laboratory (NVRL). The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out an experimental program to understand the main drivers of lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) infection in India and the effectiveness of vaccination in cattle over time.
Main Responsibilities- Develop laboratory assays to assess immune responses to infection and vaccination
- Work in high containment animal facilities to support in vivo cattle LSDV vaccination and infection studies
- Method development and optimization of a whole blood interferon gamma release assay (IGRA)
- Validation of developed assays including IGRA using samples generated from in vivo studies
- Characterization of immune responses to LSDV following vaccination and/or infection using existing and novel methodologies
- Knowledge exchange and technology transfer to support field validation of assays in India
- PhD in virology, immunology, or other related discipline
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and knowledge of veterinary virology and/or immunology
- Experience in molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, recombinant protein production, and/or molecular diagnostics
- Experience in immunological and cellular techniques, such as ELISA, serum neutralization test, PBMC isolation, intracellular cytokine staining, cell culture, and T cell recall assays
- Demonstrated working experience in assay development and test validation
