About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Supportive Learning Assistant to join our team in Winton. As a Supportive Learning Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers to provide tailored support and assistance to students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
- Monitor and record student progress and communicate with teachers and parents/carers.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of relevant SEN strategies and interventions.
- Additional qualifications in education or psychology.
