Procurement Category Manager - Strategic Sourcing Expert

At Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation – SMBC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to lead our strategic sourcing efforts and drive value creation through effective category management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Category Strategies: Design and implement category strategies that align with the company's business objectives and drive cost savings.
  • Build and Maintain Stakeholder Relationships: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop category plans that meet their requirements.
  • Procurement Business Partner: Collaborate with the business to identify opportunities for cost savings and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Sourcing and Contract Negotiation: Lead sourcing projects and negotiate contracts that meet the company's needs and drive value creation.
  • Category Performance Management: Monitor and report on category performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Expert Knowledge and Experience: Proven expertise in HR and Professional Service categories, with a strong understanding of the banking industry.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings in HR and Professional Service categories.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business awareness, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, as well as experience with procurement source-to-pay technology solutions.
