Financial Planning Associate

Medlock Partners is proud to represent a reputable Firm of Independent Financial Advisors with a significant footprint in the Yorkshire area. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a skilled team of Financial Planning Associates to develop tailored Technical Suitability reports for a diverse Client portfolio.
You will engage closely with our Financial Advisors, ensuring the proficient creation of suitability reports. Our Client also provides opportunities to work alongside senior professionals within the organization and participate in Client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with assigned Financial Advisor(s) to formulate advice, maintain compliance of client files, and produce accurate suitability reports.
- Prepare annual suitability review letters for designated Financial Advisor(s) and address any queries with them.
- Support the Paraplanning Supervisor and Investment Committee in managing centralized research for the firm's investment offerings.
- Ensure precise information is maintained within the firm's CRM system.
- Act as a primary contact within the office for assigned Financial Advisor(s), tracking their cases and providing regular updates on progress.
- Draft compliant suitability reports and conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' financial situations, identifying areas for planning review regarding asset allocation, risk profile, costs, performance, taxation, and alignment with client objectives.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research with the Financial Advisor to identify appropriate solutions for clients' needs.
- Communicate with providers to gather all relevant plan information for the advice being provided.
- Prepare comparative analyses for review by the Financial Advisor.
- Consider tax and legal implications of advice to ensure all supporting research, documentation, and records comply with regulatory requirements.
- Draft suitability reports based on agreed recommendations for discussion and approval by the Financial Advisor.
- Timely completion of annual suitability review letters.
- Research ad-hoc withdrawals of plans to evaluate suitability.
Applicants should possess relevant industry experience and ideally hold or be working towards a Level 4 Diploma qualification.
