Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to become an integral part of our Pain Management team. This role involves working with a diverse population, providing psychological support to individuals experiencing chronic pain. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions tailored to the needs of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
1. To conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for patients and their families referred to the pain management service. This includes utilizing various assessment tools and methodologies to gather and interpret complex data.
2. To develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects of chronic pain, employing a bio-psycho-social approach.
3. To deliver a range of therapeutic interventions, including both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to best practice guidelines.
4. To actively participate as a core member of the interdisciplinary pain management rehabilitation program, contributing psychological insights during team meetings and case reviews.
5. To demonstrate expertise in mindfulness-based therapeutic techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy, ensuring high-quality psychological care for patients.
6. To provide psycho-education and support to patients and their families, helping them to understand and manage the psychological impact of chronic pain.
7. To assess and manage clinical risks associated with psychological distress, collaborating with other mental health services as necessary.
