Job Title: Autism Support Worker

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team. As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with children who have special educational needs, providing individualized support and creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to children with autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist with small group activities, ensuring the children's needs are met and their participation is encouraged.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Support children with complex needs, such as PECS or Makaton, to enhance their communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children with autism and special educational needs.
  • Positive and engaging personality, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding.
  • Knowledge of PECS or Makaton is an advantage.
